Of dogs and amoebas

Though you can get a better account of the story from Roy, I’ll mention the unfortunate news here that a dog bit him several times Saturday night. He went to the local clinic with his host family to have the wound cleaned and stiched up (12 stitches!). Now he’s crutching around and we’re observing the dog for signs of rabies. Fortunately, Roy’s a trooper and he’s in good spirits about the whole thing. If you’re so inclined, you can visit Roy’s blog and leave a hope-your-dog-bite-heals-soon comment.

In other news on the health front, last week Caitlin got amoebas and an upper-respiratory infection simultaneously. She’s feeling much better now, after soothing herself with a cocktail of 13 different drugs. Needless to say, as the only unscathed associates, Emily and I are on the lookout for killer dogs and amoebas whenever we see them.
