Pinochet in La Nacion

After Agusto Pinochet, Chile’s one-time military dictator died on Dec. 11, I wrote about the divided reaction in Chile. A large number of supporters gathered to celebrate and remember the man who is known best worldwide for human rights violations. Though I’m a little behind schedule, I thought I’d also post a picture that gives another side of local sentiment. This is the front page of La Nacion, a local newspaper on the day of Pinochet’s death:

Pinochet: 1915 to 2006

The black front page has the note at the bottom, “¡Nunca más!”—Never again. Hopefully it is a true prediction and not just a wish.
